A Monumental Gathering for Artificial Intelligence
Organized by the Dubai Future Foundation through the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence, Dubai AI Week 2025 established the city as a global hub for AI innovation. The week-long initiative brought together over 30,000 experts, participants, and policymakers from more than 100 countries. It served as a premier platform for exploring AI’s transformative role in business, governance, and society.
Key Flagship Events
Dubai AI Week featured a comprehensive agenda comprising 10 major events across the city. Some of the most notable included:
- AI Retreat (April 21): A closed-door gathering at the Museum of the Future focusing on shaping AI strategies, governance frameworks, and data infrastructure.
- Dubai Assembly for AI (April 21-24): Held at AREA 2071, this assembly hosted 2,500 global figures to discuss AI’s evolving role in economies, healthcare, education, and the future of work.
- Global Prompt Engineering Championship (April 22-23): The world’s largest generative AI championship where elite finalists competed in categories like art, video, gaming, and coding for a massive prize pool of AED 1 million ($272,000).
- Dubai AI Festival (April 23-24): Hosted by the Dubai AI Campus in partnership with the DIFC, this festival attracted over 10,000 participants, fostering collaboration and showcasing breakthrough startup initiatives.
- Machines Can See Summit (April 23-24): A premier forum focusing on machine vision technologies, AI policy, and ethics under the theme “Good AI: Making the World a Safer Place”.
Advancing Education and Public Sector Innovation
Beyond industry summits and competitions, Dubai AI Week placed a strong emphasis on practical skill development and education. The AI Week in Schools initiative engaged over 10,000 students from 60 schools, equipping future generations with fundamental AI concepts. Additionally, discussions around AI in healthcare and higher education led to major announcements, such as the launch of Dubai’s first PhD program in Artificial Intelligence by the University of Birmingham – Dubai.
